| Donald Trump just demonstrated you really can’t trust him — even on the Muslim ban | |

This is an awkward thing to admit: I actually took Donald Trump at his word about something. Not much, mind you. Just two things. As much as he might flip-flop with abandon, and lie with ease, about most campaign issues, I figured that two things would remain: He would promise to build a border wall and make Mexico pay for it, and he would promise to ban Muslims from entering the US "until we figure out what's going on." But now he's showing signs of softening on the Muslim ban. He told multiple interviewers on Wednesday night and Thursday morning that http://www.vox.com/2016/5/12/11664152/trump-muslim-political-correct |

This is one of the two most emphatic political points Trump has made. The other is the mythical "Great Wall of Mexico" Can he now simply abandon it without his followers noticing? Edited by CautionaryTales, May 12 2016, 02:54 PM.

I keep telling you he isn't a conservative. If he was, he wouldn't have been my second choice. |

Trumps already backed tracked on numerous policy positions he held even a month ago - the guy reminds me of a walking political experiment. Every policy position he holds dear to his heart is open to alteration, adjustment, refinement - and finally, ridicule. He's already proved he'll say anything to get elected, and I mean anything, apparently without much thought to the consequences or repercussions of his words. As long as he's throwing red meat propaganda conservatives are happy - while GOP leadership completely disavows him. Which has now become a desperate struggle for the direction of the Republican party. Which is in self-destruct mode as we rapidly approach the general election. The GOP is starting to look more like a bad movie instead of a political party. Edited by 70-101, May 12 2016, 03:16 PM.

32, he sure is great at suckering the GOP. He's doing more damage to them than any Democrat has ever done. He's going to flip flop on all the issues he said to just to get the nomination. Maybe he'll even purposely hand the nomination over to his friend Hillary which is what you wanted and tell all his supporters that they've been punked during election day. |

Most likely scenario is Trump already made a deal with Clinton with some incentives from her to run and do what he is doing. |

Mr. Trump needs to be careful. There are not many third rails out there for Mr. Trump but if he backs down on the ones that are hate based, prejudice based or xenophobic based he will shake up his bigoted base who only know how to react, not think. Of course his reaction would be to instantly double down. Again, reacting, not thinking. Mr. Trump, you can change your mind multiple times in a 24 hour period about anything but not the hate based agenda. Remember, your agenda can't spell "base" without "hate based". No the more likely and more logical scenario is that he's going to drive the economy into the ditch, worse than W did, lose the white house after 4 years, then go back to buying up cheap land and selling it at a profit after the Democrats fix the economy. |

I doubt the Clintons trust Trump very much - especially considering they've known him for many years. |
