Cause and effect friend. They charge for luggage checking and the customers reacted.
I thought you liked the free market in action?
Pro-tip - what happens when you gate check bags and not get charged?

You bypass security.

Checkmate marxist.
Checkmate?
:rotflmao:

We are talking about the free market and how a business will use anything it can to increase their profit.
I'm not even saying that is a bad thing. I'm saying it is a thing. Whether it's good or bad is up to the consumer and his or her advocates to negotiate.

Checkmate? Not hardly son.

Also... You run that bag through the security line. That's hardly a bypass of security.

Christ you're daft.

The airlines do not have to manage the security process when you gate check bags.

That is why they charge the 25,35 whatever when they do.

There is also that included TSA and 9/11 fee.

Southwest airlines decided to absorb the cost into the ticket - that's the free market at work. It is not the work of the free market to pass on government induced overhead to the consumer.

And a passive knock on profit again - fecking marxist.

So in your mind correlation proves causation.
So what if it does correlate? Will change your position on government intervention in the marketplace?

Nope.
It does correlate, that doesn't mean that it caused it. That would be like your being diagnosed with cancer on a day it was raining, and concluding that rain must cause cancer.

They charge what they can get. Southwest decided to forego the charge in order to boost their business.
It wasn't some "gift"

Your generic rage over profits is noted - however irrelevant.

You marxists should just learn to take your lesson and leave.

Your idiotic conclusion that every time a corporation makes a move obviously designed to line their pockets it's because "government" is noted and held in the contempt it warrants.

Correlation does not equal causation my friend.

I'll give you one more chance to see life outside the marxist box.

Why do you think everyone gate checks their bags to bypass the fee? Do you not think the airlines would see this as a loss in productivity?

You seriously are under the delusion that the airlines tacked on a baggage fee so some rich CEO could by yacht? amiright?

I don't know that "everyone gate checks their bags to bypass the fee". This is something you're stating as a fact, given what I know about the quality of your facts, I'll need something more.
