Viewers were so horrified by the sight of meteorologist Liberté Chan's arms that an off-screen anchor handed her a sweater mid-report so she might cover her shameful upper body. As if by magic, a hand appears with a grey sweater. "You want me to put this on?" she says disbelievingly. "Why? 'Cause it's cold?" "We were getting a lot of emails," said the off-camera voice. Chan later posted a video on Facebook of one of the anchors reading some of the awful comments and emails they received from viewers about her dress. It then devolves in some sort of roundtable about the dress she was going to wear but didn't. The gist is her xxxxtail dress made her look like a harlot who'd dragged herself in from partying the night before, just in time to read the good citizens their weather.

Seems an odd thing for viewers to worry about though she was wearing a xxxxtail dress for some reason - which is pretty unusual for doing the weather. It wasn't obscene or anything but it was a bit of a weird clothing choice for a newscast.

Since the board apparently censors the perfectly innocent term "xxxxtail dress," I guess we'll just call it a "party dress."

Perhaps that TV market was primarily Muslim as they would clearly have a problem with the lady's dress....(in between tossing gays off buildings) the board has no problem with restroom trannys...(do not google that) but a roostertail dress is an issue....Liberaltopia is not a place anyone wants to live....ask the Venezuelans.... |

While the complaints were probably from some religious people, my guess is it was Christians. The same ones who try and control what is on TV... |

May solve the prob, indeed; were it not for the fact that extreme right-wingers would protest. |

She'd also have a problem with most Southern Baptists, not Muslims... |

I'm not surprised at the uptight stupidity over her second dress, this I have come to expect unfortunately from a public that too often assigns their illnesses onto others. What I am surprised about is that a person that professes to be a professional would choose a costume (her first dress) that was guaranteed to moray. She should have known better. |

I prefer a professional meteorologist male or female - don't care what they look like however even you used the word "professional" and as an on air professional they should know what will freak out the camera. ![]() |
