Associated Press Capitol reporter Melinda Deslatte reported via Twitter that the House was discussing a bill to raise the age minimum for strippers to 21. During the discussion, state Rep. Kenneth Havard, R-Jackson, proposed an amendment to the bill that would make it against the law for strippers to be older than 28 and weigh no more than 160 pounds. According to Deslatte, state Rep. Julie Stokes, a Kenner Republican, was outraged by the amendment, telling her colleagues that she’s “never been more repulsed to be a part” of the Legislature. |

It sounds like he was trying to make some kind of a point, but exactly what point eludes me. |

Why? 18 is the general legal age of consent so they should be able to strip if they want. Also, everyone likes different things, so if strippers are over 160 and are bringing in people/making money then who are they to say they shouldn't dance? |

Perhaps there is an ordinance already on the books that states a poundage that a stage can handle without the need for additional state inspected support...? You know...cause....government....

Reading the headline, I expected the law would require titty dancers be required to be under age 75 and weigh less than 270 pounds...This is as disheartening as a titty bar in Sun City, Arizona...................
