Suicides and overdoses have skyrocketed among middle-aged white Americans

White middle-aged Americans have been dying at a sharply increased rate in the 21st century.

A paper by Princeton University's Anne Case and Nobel laureate Angus Deaton found that white, non-Hispanic Americans aged 45-54 have seen an increase in all-case mortality, which was largely led by increases in deaths by suicides, drug and alcohol poisonings, and chronic liver diseases.

In the same timeframe, mortality rates for midlife black non-Hispanics, Hispanics, and those older than 65 in every racial and ethnic group continued to fall.

Additionally, although all education groups among non-Hispanic whites aged 45-54 saw increases in poisonings and suicide, those with less education saw the most marked increases in external cause mortality.

Overall, a quarter of Russian men die before reaching 55, compared with 7% of men in the UK and about 10% in the United States. The life expectancy for men in Russia is 64 years, placing it among the lowest 50 countries in the world in that category.

What you refer to is our past and your future, this was my idea when I posted this topic. In 90s consumption of vodka and alcohol related deaths doubled as a result of a national catastrope which collapse of USSR was.
Damn, I had 3 uncles on mother's line, 2 of them died at 50.
Two were drinking hard for some time. One of them was a successful pilot of civil aviation in Kazakhstan, but after collapse of USSR and tide of Kazakh nationalism had to flee to Russia, failed to get Russian citizenship quickly, accreditation as a pilot, had no place to live, had to do unskilled work, to clean teritory of a kindergarden for example, had no future, started to drink, but fortunately managed to stop and he's the only one who is alive.
another one also moved from Uzbekistan, was an enterpreneur, made big debts to build a house and start his business in Russia untill went bankrupt during financial crisis of 98, started drinking, stopped in some time, died from a heart attack at age of 50 trying to spin another business. Another one, being a geologist, also fled from Tashkent, a big industrial city in Uzbekustan to a remote Russian village, died at about 50 from heart attack when he was bearing water to his kitchen-garden, because to survive he had to plant quite a lot of potato.

I mean demographic decline after collapse of USSR had reasons, as well as spread of alcoholism.
And not many nations could preserve themselves at all after such catastrophes, when GDP decline was 50%, and collapse covered everything, style of life, jobs, economic system, just everything. And we managed to survive and I am sure now there is nothing that can stop our rise, because economy is capitalist, flexible, adaptable, people adapted to new realities, we have reached the bottom and whatever happens - we can only grow and expand, in wealth, in politics, in level of life, in everything, maybe with temporary fluctuations but still.
And the US has started turning alcoholic - at a skyrocketing speed - due to what reasons? You don't even have resession according to official statistics. What will you have when the crisis finally reaches open stage? Or when dollar system finally collapses? You future is very grim and you beter start thinking of yourselves in more realistic terms. :)

"The America Dream"(or nightmare)...Oncoming old age, no pension, no savings, and lots of debt to have toys that make you look successful...If our economy falls apart, the middle aged won't turn to alcohol...They will inject heroin until they die of an overdose............ :oyvey

According to new statistics alcohol related deaths fell by 1/3 for the last 5 years. as well as consumption of alcohol.
Now an adult Russian person dtinks 12,8 littes of alcohol per year, 5-6 years ago it was 18, the article above gives 20.
https://m.lenta.ru/news/2016/05/20/alco/
So, I would not be surprised if in a decade Americans surpass Russians in alcohol consumption and deaths..

Alcohol consumption is down in the US as well. Russia is still top 5 in alcohol consumption, others listed are Lithuania, Ukraine, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Hungary... interestingly all former Russian satellites, must be something in the water over there. You sure you want to keep talking about this? Your 'gotcha' attempt has been pretty sad so far.

The cult of racism has led to a situation where both polo all parties ignore the needs of interests of white Americans and instead castigate them as racists.
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.
