We also call upon the City of San Diego City Attorney’s Office and the City of San Diego Human Relations Commission to independently investigate this incident to determine if members of the San Diego Padres organization engaged in activity in violation of the San Diego Human Rights Ordinance or engaged in any deliberate hate crimes based on sexual orientation.

Fans will be fans, but the real question is; was playing the wrong recording an honest mistake or malicious intent?

If it were done maliciously, I'm quite certain that the Padres would immediately fire the person. There is no way a Major League Baseball team continues to employ a loose cannon to run their PA system.

To my knowledge that has yet to be determined. Both the Padres and MLB are investigating.

A founding work of the modern homosexual movement, this book covers a wide discussion of tactics and observations relating to the homosexual movement. But the overall main psychological strategies are well summarized in a ten-page section (pp. 147-157) titled "Pushing the right buttons: halting, derailing, or reversing the 'engine of prejudice'". Reprinted below, this is the meat of the book which has been re-used and referred to by the homosexual movement countless times.

It discusses (1) Desensitization, (2) Jamming, and (3) Conversion.

Of particular note is their tactical device throughout the book of referring to religious dissenters and other critics of homosexual behavior as "bigots." Their language is purposfully crude to enhance that idea. Much like the "big lie" theory developed in the 1920s and 1930s by the Nazis, the constant repetition of this eventually has the desired psychological effect on masses of people.

As you read this, keep in mind that it was written in 1989 -- and look around to see how far the homosexual movement has gotten using these techniques.

Your obsession with balls is duly noted. The gay mafia whipped your butt and the blow back I keep hearing about will be nothing other then "The Revenge of the Nerds".

My question would be, if the Padres intended for the all male chorus to perform, why did they let the recorded performance play all the way through? Mistakes happen, but you correct them as quickly as possible. That seems less than professional. I have to assume that they have a policy/practice in place for such an eventuality. Why didn't they do something?

Actually though, in the event of an honest mistake, at the point of starting the recording, it would probably be best to finish it. My only concern is there was some animosity towards the chorus from some of the Padres exec's over tickets. In the past the chorus was not required to purchase them. For some reason this year they were asked to purchase them. Normally individuals that are invited as guests to perform the National Anthem do not buy tickets. I guess some Padres officials did not view the chorus as an invited guest.

In retrospect, that might have been the right decision. However, at the moment, if you just put on the wrong tape and the anthem is playing and you are sitting in the control room going "Oh, crap, whoops! What do we do?" it might indeed seem the best option to just keep playing it as though nothing is wrong rather than unceremoniously interrupt it mid-song and then restart it. The old show biz adage holds in any performance. The show must go on and you try and make the screw-up look as natural as possible. That wasn't the right decision here but I could easily see it being made in the control room. Once the song started, they probably thought, "Well, we just have to ride this out and then have them file off the field like nothing happened." On the spur of the moment, there's a good chance that's probably what I would have done too.

Its a live show and stuff happens when you're live.

On the other hand this one would be a screw up that would be hard to pull off by accident.

You have a sound board and an operator and and maybe someone else that runs the tape. Let's pretend that is the case. There are microphones in front of those singers. The levels were set earlier in a sound check. These inputs are sitting on the board and labeled, as are the pots for any number of taped or other inputs which likely sit in the same pots show after show after show.

So now instead of punching up the mics which you have already taken the time to set, label and tie together to the output you take to tape instead and punch up an entirely different input.

You either have found the worlds most incompetent mixer or someone was putting into that system a little input of their own.
