The president of Citizens, Albert Rivera, said that what motivated him to travel yesterday to Venezuela was to listen and help Venezuelans to “unsustainable” political, economic and social situation faced, a goal he believes share with presidents Minister Felipe Gonzalez and Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.

at a press conference at the headquarters of C’s after the meeting of the Executive Committee of the party, Rivera drew attention to the fact that Venezuela “is a country rich “in which, however,” lack of food and medicines and lack freedom. ” Therefore, we would like Spain could “contribute to the political solution and humanitarian solution” in the South American country.

OK, OK, most of you have no idea who Albert Rivera is. Trust me on this one, this is a BIG story.

Albert Rivera is the new "pretty boy" of European/Spanish politics. Attractive, smart, intelligent and NOT a socialist. On Wikipedia it notes the following:

Quote:

Defense of individual rights.
Defense of social rights as well as the welfare state.
Uphold the State of Autonomies and Europe's unity.
Regeneration of democracy and of political life.
Specific policies[edit]

Citizens Headquarters in Barcelona, Catalonia.
The C's have outlined some policies for the 2015 general election:

Lowering corporation tax to 25%, in line with many other European countries.[24]
Lower and harmonise VAT to a rate between 16% and 19%.
Capping the top-rate of income tax at 40%.
Increase R&D spending to 3% of GDP.
Abolish or merge municipalities with a population less than 5,000.
Reducing bureaucracy and red tape.
More transparent party funding.
Crackdown on corruption.
Reform or abolish the Senate.[25]
Earned income tax credit to fight in-work poverty.
"Austrian Backpack" transferable unemployment compensation.[clarification needed]
Devolving training to the citizens from employers associations and trade unions, known to have misused formation funds.
Easing immigration policies to attract talent and investors.
Legalizing prostitution and marijuana.

Not bad, ...!

Here is his arrival in Venezuela today....
