I compiled a list from Politifact of every candidate who had at least a handful of statements rated...(sorry George Pataki)... Anyway of those ranked, from most accurate to least accurate by the percentage of true or mostly true statements. 1) Jim Webb 80 2) John Kasich 53 3) Bernie Sanders52 4) Hillary Clinton50 Bobby Jindal50 6) Jeb Bush 48 7) Rand Paul 46 8) Lincoln Chaffee39 Chris Christie39 Lindsey Graham 39 11) Marco Rubio36 12) Scott Walker35 13) Rick Perry 29 14) Carly Fiorina28 15) Mike Huckabee27 16) Ted Cruz 24 17) Martin O’Malley 22 Rick Santorum22 19) Donald Trump8 20) Ben Carson7 Technically, while Webb gets the honors here for truthfulness, both he and Jindal had few ranked statements so it is probably really Kasich who is most truthful followed by Sanders and then Clinton. The least accurate as ranked by percentage of mostly false, false and pants on fire statements: 1) Ben Carson 82 2) Donald Trump76 3) Ted Cruz 64 4) Carly Fiorina55 Rick Santorum55 6) Mike Huckabee51 7) Rick Perry 47 8) Scott Walker46 9) Lincoln Chaffee45 10) Marco Rubio42 11) Rand Paul 36 12) Chris Christie35 13) Lindsey Graham 34 14) John Kasich32 15) Jeb Bush 31 16) Bernie Sanders30 17) Hillary Clinton28 18) Martin O’Malley 23 19) Bobby Jindal10 Jim Webb 10 Meanwhile, those with the biggest "pants on fire" percentage - the ones who most commonly said the craziest untrue stuff... 1) Donald Trump19 2) Ben Carson 14 3) Rick Perry 11 4) Mike Huckabee10 5) Carly Fiorina9 6) Chris Christie8 Rick Santorum8 8) Ted Cruz 7 Scott Walker7 10) Rand Paul 6 11) John Kasich5 12) Jeb Bush 3 Marco Rubio3 14) Hillary Clinton1 15) Lincoln Chaffee0 Lindsey Graham 0 Bobby Jindal0 Martin O’Malley 0 Bernie Sanders0 Jim Webb 0 Edited by Two a.m., May 30 2016, 05:24 PM.

Sorry buddy.. Politifact is the equivalent of FOX. http://www.usnews.com/opinion/blogs/peter-roff/2013/05/28/study-finds-fact-checkers-biased-against-republicans According to the American Heritage dictionary, the definition of "fact" is: 1) Knowledge or information based on real occurrences; 2) Something demonstrated to exist or known to have existed; or 3) A thing that has been done, especially a crime. The last is especially interesting since the way fact-checking has been employed in the last two election cycles is as near to a crime as a journalist can commit. Now comes a study from the George Mason University Center for Media and Public Affairs that demonstrates empirically that PolitiFact.org, one of the nation's leading "fact checkers," finds that Republicans are dishonest in their claims three times as often as Democrats. "PolitiFact.com has rated Republican claims as false three times as often as Democratic claims during President Obama's second term," the Center said in a release, "despite controversies over Obama administration statements on Benghazi, the IRS and the AP." |

If a researcher finds more people reading books at a library than at a movie theater, it doesn't mean the researcher is biased. More people probably are reading books in one location than another. Likewise, a lack of bias doesn't mean you will find that politicians from the two parties lie at precisely the same rate. Sometimes, one party may lie more. Reporting this accurately is not evidence of slant. Incidentally, Glenn Kessler, the fact checker mentioned in your article, while mostly informative, has a fairly strong anti-Obama bias and a tendency to judge his statements more harshly. However, he is NOT associated with Politifact, nor should problems with his judgement somehow reflect poorly on them. That said, this list is not meant to be scientific. A wide variety of factors influence a rating including how many statements are rated and how often people request a rating. Editorial selection plays a role as well though not usually through direct bias. Honesty is hard to measure scientifically. Regardless, Politifact is pretty honest and straightforward and these ratings do seem to point to semi-meaningful patterns. I have not seen an indication that Politifact slants things toward Democrats. The study presented in the article is very poorly done. It assumes a conclusion (i.e. that both parties lie equally) and then indicts Politifact as biased for failing to reach that preceding assumption. In fact, it is the assumption that is far more questionable than Politifact's integrity. Edited by Two a.m., May 30 2016, 07:13 PM.

You expect me to believe the results derived from a so called fact checking organization that has not checked Hillary Clinton's many claims regarding her email server? Really? Perhaps you should take a look at this site if you would like a profoundly more comprehensive list of her "indiscretions"...mind you this list is just from 2015. http://lidblog.com/hillary-clinton-2015-a-year-of-111-scandals-lies-andor-flip-flops/ Edited by Right-Wing, May 30 2016, 08:18 PM.

Trump is less honest and accurate in his statements about himself, his opponents and the issues than any major party nominee I have ever seen in my lifetime from either party. By far. It's not even close. And that's saying something. |

There may be some truth in his narratives..however, he shovels as much bulls**t..if not more than any politician. Trump appeals to your own basest nature and tendency to stereotype those whom you disagree with. |
