Obama used this massive federal agency to target political enemies IRS finally reveals list of tea party groups targeted for extra scrutiny More than three years after it admitted to targeting tea party groups for intrusive scrutiny, the IRS has finally released a near-complete list of the organizations it snagged in a political dragnet. The tax agency filed the list last month as part of a court case after a series of federal judges, fed up with what they said was the agency’s stonewalling, ordered it to get a move on. The case is a class-action lawsuit, so the list of names is critical to knowing the scope of those who would have a claim against the IRS. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/jun/5/irs-reveals-list-of-tea-party-groups-targeted-for-/ |

...and black folks on the Jersey Turnpike used to carry a lot of drugs or have warrants on them, but we thought it was a bad idea to stop predominantly black people to find drugs and lock people up for outstanding warrants. It's called profiling, friend, and I've had to point this out to you a number of times already after you've made this stupid argument. You're a VERY slow learner. |

They went after tax cheaters buddy, and they found some. Some were liberal groups too. |

Many were not cheaters, that was the point. Do I need to point out what profiling is once again and why liberals detest it as you retreat to the edge of the ledge, mumbling your talking point? |

Many of the "non-profits" that submitted questionable tax returns were found to be ok, yep. Many others, including some liberal organizations were found to be wrong in their tax claims. They were looking at questionable filings. So, what's your point? Should Tea Party organizations get a free pass on their tax claims? Edited by CautionaryTales, Jun 6 2016, 12:44 PM.

Organizations thought to be related to the Tea Party received extra scrutiny... that's the point. Must I walk you thru every argument? State Troopers found a lot of drugs while scrutinizing more closely drivers of color. Was that good? Will it be long before you're able to grasp what's being said? |

Organizations that had suspicious tax returns got extra scrutiny. Some were liberal organizations and some were Tea Party organizations. It probably is fair to point out that the whole reason of existence for some Tea Party organizations is to get around taxes in the first place. If you go fishing for fish and you catch fish...why would you be surprised that you caught fish? Edited by CautionaryTales, Jun 6 2016, 01:01 PM.

So you were ok with NJ State Troopers disproportionately stopping drivers of color on the Turnpike and GS Pkwy because they 'caught fish,' right? Good to know |

It wasn't personal profiling friend. It was casting a wide net and lookie what they catch. They were trolling for tax cheats, and guess what? THAT IS THEIR JOB |

Yo bro, this is you saying it's ok to profile - or, if you go looking for drugs and you find drugs, why would you be surprised that you found drugs? ...go ahead, try to wriggle out... it'll be fun watching... again. |

They targeted over 400 organizations, many having the words "tea", "patriot", or 912 in them. They were looking specifically at conservative organizations which has been acknowledged by the IRS and everyone else except you. Go on, you can look dumber. |

Technically they were all cheaters. The tax classification they sought was not for use by political organizations. These political organizations claimed they were "educational". Yes, the government was known to look the other way in these cases but it still was an abuse of the tax code. |

Because that network of political organizations, many using the same advisers, were all trying the same tax scam to get non-profit, tax-free status. |
