Clinton, the former secretary of state, New York senator and first lady, reached the 2,383 delegates needed to become the presumptive Democratic nominee on Monday with a decisive weekend victory in Puerto Rico and a burst of last-minute support from superdelegates. Those are party officials and officeholders, many of them eager to wrap up the primary amid preference polls showing her in a tightening race with presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump.

I feel a kinship with Bernie supporters, probably around the same way I felt with Ron Paul except he didn't get as close. The disillusionment is real though! :victory:

I look forward to seeing what approach she will use against Trump in a general election, not a primary setting.
She had to treat Sanders (and Obama in '08) with kid gloves in order to avoid pizzin off his supporters too much. That is the problem of a primary.
It won't be the same thing with Donald Trump. Trump ran his primary like a general election where he could humiliate his opponents and it has caused some very hard to heal wounds for him.
While the Democratic primary was also difficult, the same level of permanently divisive tactics didn't exist.

It is ironic but she probably wishes that she hadn't clinched it on the eve of the California primary. It would have been better to hit the magic number today than when she did.

Well if there is one positive factor in a Trump presidency, is that Dem4Life will be anti-war again.

What's it been - 9 years?

Clinton already lost the election in 2008.

Might want to get a backup ready.

Clinton wasn't the Democratic candidate for POTUS in 2008. That would have been Obama. And he won. Twice...

Because Obama was perceived as the anti-establishment candidate. Hillary is not.
