Navy’s £1bn high-tech destroyers break down in warm water

The British military’s supposedly cutting-edge Type 45 destroyers are effectively overheating and shutting down outside of cold waters, the Defence Select Committee has heard.
On Tuesday defense chiefs admissions to committee suggested that the program is not as successful as made out. This is despite years of downplaying the vessel’s failures as mere teething problems.

As for the avatar - if you advise me another one, which reflects the most demonized or stereotyped view on Russia - I will consider it...

as for RT - I thought there must be somebody who takes pains to make the West acquinted with value of alternative point of view  You deserve to feel a fresh breath of free speach uncontrolled by your governments  finally....
In USSR we were listening to Radio Freedom (US) or Russian service of BBC radio while Soviet government was jamming it.
It seems we now traded places with you, but amazingly Western zombies struggle to keep uninformed. Russians are much , much more flexible and eager to be better informed. :)

Russians....flexible, and eager....in what century?...You guys have been pining away for the Glory of Mother Russia in the heady days of the Tsar or the Soviet Union. Your adventure into capitalism and western style democracy has only shown the utter corruption that existed with the Party and it's control over Russia. The fact that corruption gets occasionally noted in the Russian Press is I guess an improvement.

RT...an electronic version of Pravda.

I find it funny.... Siberian commenting on a problem with the engines of a British Warship when the Russian Carrier Kuznetsov has to go everywhere with 2 tugboats to tow it home when its own engines fail... LOL

SIBERIAN FAIL!!!

Trump needs to focus more so on the male vote. He should have nationalized the Boy Scouts when they decided to admit girls.

Not to mention their C&C over their nuclear weapons is 20 years old, many of their missile regiments have been scavenging for parts or just letting them rust, and Gods' knows how many of their old facilities or equipment is now in the hands of former Soviet Satellite republics who aren't taking care of the equipment or have it secured.

While in his home area in Siberia has endured numerous changes to military units in place and some disbanded, it's a free for all there just who is what.

Corruption has never been an obstacle to development, monopolism is.
Russians on individual level are extremely creative, very hard working, adaptable and flexible. Capitalism works perfectly in Russia on level of small and medium business, except monopolies.
The problem with our social development/democracy is that our nature, our history has never been easy. Russians have to work harder to get less compared to most other countries, the Core Russia, where Russian character was formed - had and has infertile clay soils, cold climate and extraordinally hostile neighborhood. Any other people would not survive here.
All this made Russians extremely tolerant to various hardships. We can resist everything, we can overcome any hardship, but the consequence is that we are satisfied with less, we don't demand something better if we have something good. We value common security more than induvidual one and external threat always is considered more dangerous than internal one. This is the way one can survive in Eurasia and become the biggest country on Earth. Don't forget that if not Russia some Finns and most of Europe would have spoken Mongol after Chingiz Khan or French after possible Napoleon's conquest or German after Hitler, all these flowers of prosperity Europe (and USA as its off-spring) enjoys could grow only because Russia did all the job for you defeating one World dictator after another because we were the only ones who were ready to sacrifice wealth for sake of security.
Though this time I hope it's the turn of Chinese to fight the US as a global dictator while we'll sit and wait, maybe helping Chinese in their fight :) from some distance..
The social contract with Putin is that he doesn't bother people and there is some constant improvement of life - in exchange people don't care much about corruption around him, not all, but most people. It is not much and I can't say everything could not be better but the speed of change, transformation of Russia is enormous. You don't know and understand it, while I remember both Soviet time and mentality and I see what we have now. I can't say I am satisfied, but I am quite confident we can handle everything .
And frankly saying, Western press looks much more like Pravda, I can compare, you can't. As well Western governments remind me of herontocrats of the USSR who were afraid to loose monopoly of information. This is the reason RT is attacked so much by Western governments - they are loosing control on the crowd.

If old Kuznetsov has the same problems as newest British warship - what does it mean? Britts have fallen to late USSR level or Soviets modernized their 30years old ships to NATO standards?

Over 10,000 Man Hours Spent Trying to Fix Aircraft Carrier G.H.W. Bush's 423 Toilets

According to the Navy Times, the aircraft carrier George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) has been struggling with some critical technical difficulties since it began its first deployment. Namely, that it has been extremely hard to keep all the $6.2 billion carrier’s toilets functioning. According to sources onboard the ship, there have been times when none of the carrier’s 423 toilets have been available for use. The horror of this situation is brought into sharp focus when you remember that the ship carries some 5,000 sailors.

We have an anecdote.
2 Russian coast guards are sitting on the beach in Crimea and suddenly see a periscope of a sub in 10 meters away from them. One says to another - go find out who is that.
The second jumped into the water, in a minute appears again and says - it's English, there is "Welcome" written on the door. - No way, Britts don't go so far, dive another time... - He appears again - It'Japanese, there's "Made in Japan" written on the side... - No, Japanese stay away from us, go dive another time... - In a minute - It's Ukrainians!!! - How did you know? - I knocked, they opened the door....

Though, now I think they could be somebody else.... :)

Problem was fixed back in 2011...

The Kuznetsov still hasn't had her engine problems fixed and is years overdue for a major refit.

and as for "10000" Man hours.... that could be 500 men working 8 hrs a day to fix the problem in 3 days...
