Let's see how Mr. Siberian spins this.

Spins? :)
it's really a very funny story, everybody is laughing and joking at Medvedev, this phrase has become a meme, parody songs are composed and it was recently used in an ad of a mobile phone company "competitors, good luck, hava a nice day and take care of yourselves", but then the contract with that PR company was immediately eliminated after this ad went public :) - not to infuriate Kremlin it seems.
Drudge, the most outrageous thing was a joyful tone and the last words - good luck to you, take care and have a nice day :) - with this very joyful tone, contradicting to complaints of an eldely woman , while ritual dancing about indexation of pensions is an eternal matter, Russians got used to constant improvement of life standards for the last 15 years and of course if pensions don't grow it's not welcomed by anybody. But it's not a big issue yet and I doubt will be if nothing extraordinary happens.
The sad thing for you here is that Medvedev is the only top liberal and was a hope of pro-Western oligarkhs, they expected him to move Putin away when they were trading places for a while. Now there are 2 public figures in pro-Western camp - Medvedev and former finance minister Kudrin. Both are unpopular and Medvedev added some bad carma to himself in people's eyes.
Medvedev is a very funny figure. Putin chose him with intent and didn't miss, it seems.

and of course it's not "there is no money left in state budget", as another Western mass medua lies to you, the whole ussue is about indexation of pensions, i.e. there was no money to increase pensions" according to Medvedev.

I posted the same article on the op-ed.

Should this one be on the Foreign thread?

2 public figures who theoretically can replace Putin I mean, of whom most people in Russia are at least aware. But still they are absolutely marginal figures, if you claim yourself a pro-Western liberal you immediately limit your electoral base with 15% maximum. But all oligarkhs are yours, of course.
If there are free and fair elections the president will be semi-socialist, semi-nationalist. National socialist.... :)) Putin is absolutely non-nationalist, nationalists are being smong the most repressed. Putin deserves trial as an American puppet, of course. For all he did to Russian economy, as well for beyrayal of Russians in Ukraine.

Putin needs to put back what he took out of the Treasury coffers to hide in his of shore bank accounts.

Sanctions for the adventure in the Crimea and the Ukraine are costing Russia hardships that Putin may not be able to ignore much longer.

$125 a month is not sufficient living standards even for Russia.

And Medvedev must by a NATO spy.

Do you even read the stuff you posted?

not much, I agree, though don't forget that in Russia social care system is still quite different, pensioneers rather have advantage of numerous discounts rather then get live money. Healthcare is free, discounts in certain food shops, public transport is free for pensioneers too etc.
But still not much, of course. But this figure concerns minimal pension payed automatically for reaching certain age. It's a guaranteed minimum.
And it depends on cost of life of the region, in Moscow it's 14500 but not 8000, for example. But most people have higher pension if they had higher qualification or got better salaries.
