Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

What killed the GOP in California after its success under Wilson was its inability to run up big majorities among whites. For example, in 2000 George W. Bush won only 49% of the California white vote in the L.A. Times exit poll. In 2004, GWB won only 51% of the white vote. In 2008, the pro-amnesty John McCain, sponsor of the 2006 Kennedy-McCain amnesty bill, won only 46% of the white vote in California.

Republican candidates can’t win in diverse states like California and Texas without rolling up big white majorities, the way Romney beat Obama in Texas in 2012 by 76-24.

I don't think Trump can win in California. The entire state is a welfare giveaway disaster area. It's flyover country. It's akin to a foreign country.

Trump needs to concentrate his efforts in the battle states, he's literally tied with Hillary in most of them. And I do not believe for a moment that Hillary is leading him by the margin presented in the latest polls in Florida.
Proud Deplorable.

Why were Nixon and Reagan able to carry California? What changed?

Because Nixon promised to get us out of Vietnam, and for the most part he did, and Reagan came along after Vietnam, when our national sense of self esteem had taken a hard hit, and Reagan brought up this image of "great to be American" centric ethos. They came in at just the right time.

What were the demographics of California in 1968 as opposed to 2016?

Please don't make it a racial thing, Gods, you are a one trick pony...you've just been told why they managed to pick it up, but no, that wouldn't fit your narrative that the reason they won was because minorities outpaced whites in California. Newsflash, California had always had a strong Hispanic presence, it was after all part of the former Kingdom of Spain, and then he Republic of Mexico.

What percentage of California was Hispanic in 1968 and how does that compare to 2016?

Irrevelent, it was not a determining factor in their wins in California.

Irrevelent to your question on Nixon and Reagan, I'm cutting you a lot of slack because you were probably still in diapers for Nixon if that, and in high school under Reagan..so stick to your question and quit moving the goalpost, otherwise there is no further use in me discussing this.

I am much younger than you think.

Why do you suppose California is no longer a red state . ..
