The collapse of the EU does nothing to strengthen Russia...

NATO still unites them

Europe is still protected... The Russian Bear wont get a single Bite...

We have an anecdote.
2 cowboys are sitting in a bar and drinking whiskey. Suddenly a man jumps into the bar, orders a whiskey, drinjs and as fast runs away. One cowboy asks another - who is that? - It's elusive (uncatchable) Joe. - And nobody really can catch him? - Well, Who the hell wants him?

V4r, you cannot imagine how much a zombie you are if you really think that Russia somehow can or want to invade Europe..
NYET you have nothing Babushka!

it does make it interesting.. I have been hoping for a reunification with our Orange northern brothers for decades. To see it in my lifetime would be a dream come true...

I hope it happens... I just wish my grandparents were around to see it.. they died before the Easter Accords that Clinton brokered.

Something I always give him credit for...

I have to wonder if Northern Ireland would agree to join the Republic of Ireland, perhaps with a certain amount of autonomy, or if they'll look to join with Scotland in some kind of mini-United Kingdom. Clearly, economically, Northern Ireland needs EU interaction. So I'd be surprised if they remain effectively a welfare state of the UK when they can have greater prosperity by staying in the EU.

There are options.
A unified Ireland is stronger and will have the backing of all the Irish people...

now if Scotland leaves they are weak, but they are a Catholic Country..

They could unite with a United Ireland

will be a bitch if the Brits want to keep using the Firth of Forth and Scapa Flow

Trump needs to focus more so on the male vote. He should have nationalized the Boy Scouts when they decided to admit girls.

To the tune of London Bridge is falling down the vote is being cast. 1.2 million brits want a recount.

Alas the tune of flip flop of what a joy it is the markets have tanked to the tune of 1/2 a trillion USD.

Tune on Monday as the financial markets fizzle as they attempt to put out the fires.

Blood Brits I say......The British empire needs a blood bath for its force to be renewed. (something borrowed about the Italians buts fit quite well in this instance.

If Northern and Southern Ireland can hammer out a workable formula for harmonious co-existence, then joining with Scotland certainly makes some sense. There is a lot of shared commonality there and it would make them, as a united group, more influential within the EU itself than as smaller individual countries.

I'm sure we're not the only ones to see the potential here. England and Wales may have just doomed the UK.

Majored in history

WWI was an exercise in nationalism, militarism and allowing a situation to get out of control

Kinda like whats going on now

Catholic Protestant divide is an outdated concept. Someone seeking to reopen the troubles is someone of little vision.

A petition calling for another referendum on whether Britain should stay in the European Union has now received at least 2.1 million signatures — a level that means it must now be debated by British politicians. It was apparently so popular that the British Parliament's website, where the petition was hosted, briefly crashed.

Yes, that's certainly a significant obstacle. Perhaps self interest can over come it, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

Insane. Ireland needs to leave the EU.
Northern Ireland actually receives a great deal of benefit from being in the EU, which is why NI voted 55.8% to remain in the EU and only 44.2% voted to leave.

Hughmac presents a very British (and very Conservative with a capital "C") reaction to Brexit and its American cheering section. The surprising "Leave" vote strikes me as being a product of the international spread of the new American style of politics. One first notices the bad manners, wild accusations and bogus numbers -- something more recent and more shocking in the UK than here.

The class split over Brexit is nothing new, the Labour Party has been waging open class warfare at least since 1945. On the other side, the Conservatives have reveled in a runaway increase in income inequality, a bonanza of new wealth produced by London banks which has made the city affordable for Russian kleptocrats and Arab princes at the expense of British working families. America has led the way in bringing these dispiriting factors to the forefront of national politics. I'd say the British ruling class has become more American and less English.
I would expect a Marxist to be celebrating Brexit independence from capitalist dominated EU....You appear to be pussy footing around where you stand on Brexit....This is why the intelligentsia was a great disappointment to Stalin...In earlier times you would have been transported to a Winter vacation........
