Outcry from opposition and experts about risks of privacy violations and propaganda

After the controversy sparked by the announcement of a deal that allows the Secretariat of Public Communication to use citizen’s personal information held by the ANSES social security agency for public advertising, Cabinet Chief Marcos Peña yesterday said that the government won’t use that data as a “political tool” and that the main aim of the measure is “to improve the state’s capacity of reaching out to all citizens with its information.”
