Erdogan has said it is shameful that Western countries showed more interest in the fate of the plotters

Around 50,000 demonstrators marched through the streets of Cologne this afternoon to show their support for Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan.
Waving the Turkish national flag, demonstrators held aloft pictures of Erdogan and placards reading 'For Democracy, Against Putsch' after a failed military coup earlier this month.
'We are here because our compatriots in Germany advocate democracy and are against the attempted military coup,' Turkey's sport and youth minister, Akif Cagatay Kilic, who attended the rally, told reporters.

Erdogan...? They're supporting Erdogan? Really.

That should scare the bejesus out of you. Erdogan. Right. The guy who is killing all of those so-called coup plotters, by the thousands! Erdogan, a Muslim zealot who is turning the course of history in the Middle East. Just watch what's gonna happen next. The world is in for a shock...

So, like, how's that assimilation of Muslim Turks working-out in Germany? How about when over a million Syrians arrive?

What, they all put on Lederhosen and sing the German national anthem? Learn German history? Learn German culture?

50,000.....! (one day, one city)

Most Turks are second or third generation Germans... or at least they were when I was there. Germany imported many Turks as cheap labor to rebuild after WW2. This demonstration shows that even grandchildren of Islamic immigrants are hardcore Islamists and do not integrate to Western society. Or maybe Germany recently imported tons of fresh Islamic Turks?

Hard to tell....but surely not the point.

Just imagine 50,000 (or less) Germans congregating in, oh, say, Istanbul, waving German flags....

The Turks are the 'oldest' immigrant group in Germany. They started coming into Germany during the mid-60's at the height of Germany's "Wirtschaftwunder" (Economic Miracle). At that time Germany lacked enough workers to fill the auto factories of Mercedes, Volkswagen and Audi. They came-in by the tens of thousands. At first, most came to work, then left to go back to Turkey with their newly acquired hard currency. Then, slowly, Turkish enclaves begin appearing in most of the major German cities, Munich, Hamburg and Cologne.

Today, those same Turks, who've been in Germany for over 50 to 60 years still feel kinship with Turkey, NOT Germany. That's the point here. Assimilation. It never happened. The idea that all of these Turks showed-up in Cologne to SUPPORT Erdogan is frightening. Scary stuff. This is a very noteworthy action in Germany. Resident Turks supporting a thoroughly Islamist militant back in Ankara. Not democracy. Not liberty. A Turkish dictator, now in the process of eliminating/killing all those who oppose him under the guise of a "coup." Germany is a mess. If the population doesn't wake-up soon they will find themselves overrun with immigrants demanding Sharia Law. Not possible? Stop and look at those Turkish flags being waved in Cologne. Just the beginning....
