I'll soon be in Montreal dining on their cheap currency.
Skipping leg day is the equivalent of a woman having an abortion. You're ashamed of it, and it was probably unnecessary.

Really? She thought Vancouver was 'godforsaken'? Drop her off in Biloxi or Gainesville for the summer.
Not Vancouver - Barry, Ontario.

I loved the lakes and the nature - the leftist crazies, cost and government worship - not so much.
ahhh... and she wanted to trade that for??? San Francisco? NYC? Boston?

Barry is a person, Barrie is an ugly city. It also sits on the wrong part of Georgian Bay. The Northern half with it's thousands of glacier hewn islands and windswept firs, or the Trent-Severn system cut through looming marble, are waaaaay prettier than the open water. Barrie is too big to be a cute little town like Coldwater, and too small to have any interesting history or entertainment.

I think I dated someone from Barrie in a past life.

They're also the most insufferable province. Newfoundland has a unique culture though it's cost them their livers and sanity.

That's it.

I begged her in our early days to go Kill Bear park as opposed to drinking in the expensive but s**t bars.

Everything in "the North" is incredibly expensive and usually s**t. If you're not listening to loons or hiking the highlands, what the hell are you doing there?

Can't say I'm an expert on Barrie(n?) bars though. Maybe your friends enthusiasm for bad bars over nature it's sort of like how Italians vandalize Roman ruins to the disbelief of tourists.

I'm going to Vancouver for a couple of weeks... should even be able to eat in decent restaurants.
That should be fun. Enjoy!

Naw. QB is certainly unique (not all in a good way) but I find NS, BC, and ON quite different from one another.

"Culture" being perhaps not meant in the usual way, though having lived in Cape Breton, I should stfu about that.

Having been to Cape Breton, I'm wondering what you did for a living there. Park ranger?

Why thank you! 10 days in the city and a trip out to Ucluelet on V. I. for 4-5 days. Wifey has never been.

I'm assuming the Canadian tourist industry is the recipient of the loonie's distress.

For people who can squeeze an 8 lb object out of a 4 inch opening, they sure are a bunch of sissies when it comes to comfort levels.

I prefer squeezing 8 lb objects in to a 4 inch opening.
