Ryan Lochte and the three US swimmers were not robbed but instead ordered to pay up after destroying a gas station bathroom
Video shows the men trashing a restroom and breaking the door, followed by a security guard pulling a gun when they refuse to pay
Lochte was seen smiling in a photo with a flight attendant in Charlotte on Wednesday morning as he was spotted back in the US for the first time
US Olympic swimmers Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz have been detained by Brazilian authorities and remain in the country
The two men were attempting to fly back to the United States from Rio when they were dramatically removed from their flight at the last minute
Jimmy Feigen will also give a statement to police in Brazil on Thursday, as will the driver of the cab the men were in that night

Oh my, .....this is turning into a BIG story.

The Rio games may be remembered for this, and this alone. Arrogant, rich and pompous athletes p'ssing on the lives of the poor in South America. Where is Karl Marx when you need him?

As the story kept changing I thought something was odd. That being said, this isn't what I'll remember these Olympics for...

Huge story...!

As I am typing this I am preparing to fly down there to Rio and join-in the protests that are sure to erupt. Big protests, throughout South America. Perhaps Che and I can meet there? He'll be there as well I am sure. We can go arm-in-arm into the streets...! I need some flags, or something. I need something to wave. Perhaps a flag with Marx's image? A hammer and sickle flag? I dunno. I know! I'll bring my "Down with Obama...!" flag. That'll make me fit right in. To Rio! This is surely worth protesting!

They should have figured they got off lightly with just paying the $50, should have shut their mouths and resolved not to be drunken wankers in the future.

That's exactly right.

50 bucks? That's it? Lochte probably LOST over a million dollars in corporate sponsorship money.

"Non-story," you say?

I would agree, in part.

The liberal news media, however, sees this thing a bit different....

The network evening and morning shows seem to have badly misplaced priorities. ABC, CBS and NBC have already devoted 10 times more coverage to the Olympic swimmer “scandal” than they did the bombshell admission that the Obama administration linked the release of four American prisoners and a $400 million payment to Iran.

Thursday night and Friday morning, the networks pounced on the report that Olympian Ryan Lochte and three other swimmers may have fabricated some or all of an alleged robbery in Rio de Janeiro. This garnered a whopping 37 minutes and 31 seconds. In comparison, the cash payout to Iran, which looks suspiciously like ransom, only amounted to a scant 3 minutes and 46 seconds.

In what world is an Olympic swim “scandal” 10 times more important than a questionable $400 million payment to Iran in return for prisoners? Journalists like to think they speak truth to power. But when Democrats are involved, they aren’t very interested in raising their voices.
