Under-fire EU chief Jean-Claude Juncker risked widening divisions with European leaders today by saying borders were the 'worst invention ever'.
He called for all borders across Europe to be opened, despite the chaos caused over the last year from the flood in refugees fleeing Syria and the wave of terror attacks hitting various continent's cities.
The remarkable comments will further undermine Mr Juncker's precarious position as European Commission President.
He has faced repeated calls to quit after his failure to keep Britain in the EU and the refugee and Greek debt crises.
Today he accepted the Commission 'deserves criticism' but insisted national government's 'have to share the blame'.
Speaking at the Alpbach Media Academy this morning, Mr Juncker said: 'Borders are the worst invention ever made by politicians.'
The contentious remarks from the Brussels chief are the polar opposite of moves by elected leaders of EU member states who have tighten their borders over recent months after more than a million entered the bloc from Syria in less than a year.

The UN needs to be completely destroyed. They are the tool of the NWO to create a one world government without borders. This is not Conspiracy Theory.

Removing borders is like removing adhesive bandages. Slower is more painful. Spain, France, Italy, Germany -- all these nations and more slowly unified from medieval kingdoms, dutchies etc. into solid nation states. The process took centuries and was driven largely by war. It took a horrible war to turn the United States into a single country from a confederation of sovereign states. In these and other cases (India, China etc.) the consolidation is always beneficial. It just takes guts -- or war.

In about 30 to 50 years, perhaps sooner, when the last remnants of humanity break the seal to their very deep underground tunnel/hide-out in Andermatt, Switzerland, gaze through the atomic soot covering the sun, one of the last survivors will turn to the other and ask, "How the hell did this happen?"

I would suggest that we point to slobbering idiots like Jean-Claude Juncker as being one of those who were responsible. The annihilation of billions of human beings through acts of pure stupidity.

Juncker was/is one of the most powerful people in Europe, yet hardly anyone is aware as to who he is and what decisions he is making behind closed doors. First and foremost he's a bureaucrat. A bureaucrat with enormous taxing powers and wealth. Incredible wealth. In Brussels the EU has something like 90 buildings and tens of thousands of bureaucrats running around doing, ...doing, ...something. They are going to kill European civilization. They will destroy all of its culture, its art and lessons learned through its glorious history. We are all going to die as a result of the mind-numbing arrogance and stupidity of people like Jean-Claude Juncker.

Speaking as a European, and a fellow inhabitant of this lovely planet, I have nothing but hate and contempt for this flaming a$$hole. My only wish is that he soon be captured by a member of ISIS and sent to Mosul for a Muslim trial. Just before the guy with the gleaming sword comes down on his elongated neck, maybe then he'll get it. Maybe not. There are many, many fools like Juncker who went to their graves believing in stupid ideas. European open borders is surely one of them.....

I agree, borders are rubbish. They're government imposed limits on my freedoms.

The last remnants of humanity will be Japanese or Korean. The West is committing civilizational suicide.

Fantastic.....!

We wouldn't want to limit 'your" freedoms, nor anyone else's.....

Therefore, next week I'll be sending 1600 or so refugee's from the Ramirez family of San Vicente, El Salvador to your backyard! Don't worry about shelter, they'll bring their own tents and stuff. As for sanitation, Pablo Ramirez has a sharp-edged spade with which to dig a deep pit in your backyard for, well, for.... 'b' movements. Since most liberals like yourself have no freaking clue as to how society's are structured, how capitalism works or how wealth is created we won't have to worry about educating these people in order to improve their lives. The Ramirez's will just sit in your backyard for a couple of generations or two and make use of 'their freedoms.' We cannot, and must not, limit anyone's "freedoms." Your backyard is now their backyard.....

EU debate: does Brussels employ fewer bureaucrats than Derbyshire?

The powers handed to Brussels 'bureaucrats' formed an important part of the debate on EU membership between Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage on 2 April 2014.

The Liberal Democrat leader rejected the idea that the EU was run by "unelected bureaucrats", saying:

"The total size of the European bureaucracy is about exactly the same size as the number of people employed by Derbyshire County Council. Some super-state!"
There were around 36,000 public sector employees in Derbyshire County Council in the third quarter of 2013, according to the Office for National Statistics. This compares to the 33,000 employed by the European Commission.

While the numbers are certainly similar, which is larger depends upon the employees of the EU we count: the numbers match up if we take European Commission and Council employees together, but not if we add in European Parliament employees or take any of the parts of the EU individually.

But it's also worth bearing in mind that these two figures may not be comparable. According to Derbyshire County Council's Budget, for example, its 36,000 staff includes 8,000 teachers—not a profession that is usually associated with the term 'bureaucrat'.

Today protesters climbed on the Brandenburg Gate and posted this: (Secure borders: Secure future)

Posted Image

And they were quickly described as being "far right."

I have yet to have anyone here give me an "Oxford English" definition as to the difference between 'right-wing, and 'far right-wing.'
Liberals everywhere LOVE using that terminology.

Far-right anti-Islam activists staged an hour-long protest on top of Berlin's Brandenburg Gate today calling for 'secure borders' in Germany.
The protesters unfurled a banner reading 'Secure Borders - Secure Future' on the iconic monument as crowds of tourists milled around beneath them.
Police said 15 people were briefly detained over the protest and are likely to face charges of trespassing, harassment and breaching laws on public assembly.
